In the Greek myth of Chloe and Daphnis, the long-distance lovers could only see each other when the honeysuckle bloomed. Frustrated with this decree Daphinis asked Aphrodite, the goddess of love, to prolong the blooming season of honeysuckle. Here the figure wears hair made of honeysuckle vine. Her stare is powerful, yet forlorn. Though it is her blooming season, she stands alone, pondering her romantic fate.
