Kings and Jungles - Fine Art Print

This reproduction of a watercolor original, by artist Annie Moran, depicts a Zulu, Mardi Gras parade participant. He stands with cocky self assurance, beer in hand, whistle in mouth, before a pattern of lions resting on live oak branches.

Just as the lion is king of the jungle, the black man is king of culture in New Orleans, even as he is oppressed and struggles for an equal place in the larger socio-economic society. One place that he can reign, is in self-expression.

This fine art print is printed on fine art velvet paper with archival ink.

Size variation options show image area dimensions. There is a 2" white border around the image for framing, so the paper size is plus 4" in each direction. If you prefer a 1" border, or no border at all, please indicate this in your order notes.
